the fortress

While my mom was here she showed me this movie that my nephews made during Sunday dinner at my parents' house a few weeks ago. Maybe it's super funny because they're my nephews but I could not stop laughing. They love to write scripts and make these movies and they're pretty clever! If you don't want to watch the whole thing, at least treat yourself up to 1:07 when my nephew, Jonah, falls dead on the grass. I want to relive that moment over and over again.

  1. Collin was the writer, director and photographer. (I guess Major is officially the producer, since "Major Productions" sounds cool. Pretty clever.) He mostly made it up on the spot, but the other boys added some details (e.g. Owen with the stick).

Collin made this for a school project for computer class... they had to make a short film and edit it using certain software. The battery ran out (which is why it has such an abrupt ending) and parents were rounding up the kids to head home, so he was a little frustrated. But he working on perfecting it. :P

    I love the tongue-in-cheek parts!

Collin's other "industry" name, "L3TV," has a funny story... he saw it on the box for our TV (L3 was the model #) and he thought it was cool, so now he uses it for all his videos. :) Naturally, he had to add "Nielson Films" in there though, since the Nielson cousins are his actors. :P

  2. hahaha what! my favorite is when cole says, "hey, hey, hey, buckle up!" and to think that i was there the whole time and didn't know this genius was going on.

also, i have a slight crush on major (don't tell ben). i was his substitute a few times last semester and never have i seen a more polite, well-rounded boy. he is a legend at school.
